The mighty Col du Tourmalet climbed from Luz-Saint-Sauveur. The road winds up through the valley before opening up into a natural ampitheatre near the top. Pic du Midi looms above as the road tops out at Chez Octave.

The mighty Col du Tourmalet climbed from Sainte-Marie-de-Campan. The road leaves the valley behind and slowly disappears into the mountains. Meadows become forest, forest gives way to high pasture and rock, through the concrete tunnels and out into the open with Pic du Midi up above.
